Traveling can be an incredible experience. Going to new places. Meeting new people. Experiencing a new culture. Eating new food. Learning new things about the world and yourself. I have always enjoyed travel since I was younger, but starting in my early twenties, this came with anxiety and depression. Travel began to come with anxiety. Thinking of how I was going to handle everything while traveling caused anxiety. I almost started to avoid it, but that’s not how I wanted to live.
I started to understand that I can still travel but I just need to do more preparing than others. I needed to understand first what I do at home to take care of my mental health. This gives me a good basis to start off of and helps me become more aware of what I need in regards to my mental health.
It’s also about understanding the type of trip I am going on. What I need in regards to mental health if I’m doing a beach vacation versus backpacking. Understanding what I might encounter or cause me mental health issues will help me prepare for my trip.
Finally, being aware of all this during the actual trip will become critical.
I created a handbook that puts all of these ideas together, so it is easier to understand and follow along. Click the link below to download it!
I hope it helps. If you think I need to add anything please just comment or send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Below are links to some products that help me when I travel! Puzzle books, essential oil roll on, and one of my favorite activity books as well. These are affiliate links.
